The figure shows the development of different values from the annual accounts of the organizations (balance sheet total, operating income and operating expenses). The average and the median are shown. Only organizations for which all values are available for all years are considered.
Balance sheet total: The balance sheet total is the sum of assets on the asset side or the sum of the total capital on the liability side of a balance sheet as at the reporting date.
Income from operations: Der Betriebsertrag umfasst sämtliche Erträge aus der operativen Tätigkeit einer Organization während des Geschäftsjahrs. Dazu gehören z.B. Spendeneinnahmen, staatliche Beiträge oder das Entgelt für erbrachte Dienstleistungen. Betriebsfremde Erträge wie beispielsweise Finanzerträge and ausserordentliche Erträge werden hier nicht berücksichtigt.
Operating expenses: Operating expenses include all expenses arising from the operational activities of an organisation during the financial year, e.g. personnel costs, rental expenses, etc. Non-operating and extraordinary expenses are not taken into account.
