We're letting data speak!

The Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) of the University of Basel is an interdisciplinary institute for research and further education specializing in the nonprofit sector. Founded in 2008 on the initiative of SwissFoundations, CEPS is a university think tank on the diverse subject of philanthropy.

With our activities, we want to improve the scientific basis and knowledge about philanthropy and thus strengthen the practical work in the field of philanthropy. In addition, we offer further training and coaching for foundations and other non-profit organizations.

Since 2015, CEPS has been collecting annual accounts of Swiss nonprofit organisations (most of which are ZEWO certified). Jahrbuch der Hilfswerke The Jahrbuch der Hilfswerke shows this ever-growing data wealth, which is now made available to the public in an interactive form through the Data Explorer. Data explorer In this way, analyses can be made which, for example, are not published in the Jahrbuch der Hilfswerke, but could be of great importance to you. How do you do it? the Jahrbuch der Hilfswerke The Jahrbuch der Hilfswerke and the NPO Datalab is also updated annually so that analyses can always be made with the latest financial figures. In the course of time, other data relevant to the third sector will also be made available.
